I was really quite shocked when I originally saw that scene as well. Even worse was the fact that the TV news anchor did not comment on Dubyas less than diplomatic "come hither"-move with the Chinese president.
Maybe the news presenter thought the images themselves were astounding enough, but in this day and age (if ever) one cannot trust the dull, TV-brainwashed population to make up their own minds. God forbid. In any event, the TV-presenter was blabbering on about some political yada yada, regarding the Vulcan melting of minds (suuure) betwixt the presidents of the evil empire and of the rising empire, respectively. As if whatever HE was talking about, stuck to my mind..
All I could think about was what is worse: The fact that this mindless baboon (my advance apologies to all good baboons for the comparison) is holding the position of leader of the free world (and more formally, commander-in-chief of the by far largest military strike force on earth), or the nuclear holocaust he was potentially instigating in that very oh-so-Kodak moment...
Just want to point out that the "options" were jokes and that I in fact consider W to be a very good president on foreign policy. Now if he'd only level Tehran and Riyadh...
