RIGHT! Here is my itinerary for the trip to England & Scotland Sep 18 - Oct 30. Rooms are booked in all these places, but most of them can be cancelled, some up to the day before. Changes may still come if I take a fancy to an area or something disgusts me, you never know.
Having spent the last 48 hours with a road map of England I have reached the conclusion that even if I live to see a hundred, I will never be able to see all the things this little island has to offer. Britain is chock full of interesting stuff, from the tiniest, dusty ruins to the grandest of palaces and everything in between.
Add to that the rivers, forests, mountains, coastlines and dales and the everyday occurrence of cozy pubs, ancient houses, weird and wonderful festivals and events and you have a lifetime of Britain before you. Being more or less barred from a visa-free entry into the United States for the next six months, I can think of nothing better to do with my time.

Sep 24-25: Bury St Edmunds with trips around East England
Sep 26: Bury St. Edmunds - Lincoln

Sep 30: Hackness - Pickering - Durham
Oct 1: Durham - Brampton, basically following Hadrian's Wall
Oct 2: Brampton - Creetown
Oct 3: Creetown - Wigtown - Stranraer

Oct 5: Stranraer - Ardrossan - Arran. Ferry to the isle of Arran, wheeee!
Oct 6-7: Isle of Arran

Oct 12: Coldstream, trips around the Border area
Oct 13: Coldstream - the coast - Durham. Bamburg Castle again, def!
Oct 14: Durham - Windermere
Oct 15: Windermere. A ride through the western Lake District.
OCt 16: Windermere - Morecambe
Oct 17: Morecambe
Oct 18: Morecambe - Llandudno
Oct 19: Llandudno. Drive around Anglesey, def.
Oct 20: Llandudno - Aberystwyth
Oct 21: Aberystwyth – St. Florence
Oct 22: St. Florence - Swansea
Oct 23: Swansea
Oct 24: Swansea - Westbury
Oct 25-26: Westbury. Drives around Wiltshire. Wincanton, def.
Oct 27: Westbury - Totton
Oct 28: Totton. Drives around the New Forest.
Oct 29: Totton - Hartfield - Crawley. Return to Winnie the Pooh places.
Oct 30: Crawley - Oslo. Back to dreary old Norway. Sigh.
