Carlsbad Caverns National Park lies in southeastern New Mexico. The landscape is barren and desolate, a continuation of much of Western Texas. The main point of interest is the caverns, but frankly I thought them rather boring, especially compared with the two I went to in France in 2010. I also stopped at a place just before the caverns, where there used to be an ancient injun dwelling and took some pics.
All Carlsbad pics here.
Nothing phallic here!
Tit & nipple, wooo hoooo!
Rocks.
More rocks.
Vast views from the entrance to the caves. There's an elevator inside that takes you to the floor of one of the caves, 754 feet below the surface.
A waterhole could make the difference between life and death in this harsh landscape.
And a little shelter from rain & wind & sun.
Spikey.
