Just a brief post to show you what much of the scenery is like, here in the southwestern US... I posted one earlier, from southern Texas. That showed large bushgrowth and trees dominating the landscape. As you go further west, and also higher, the bushes becomes smaller, and the trees scarcer - and generally smaller. You also start to get more proper mountains and mesas.
Southwestern Texas, not far off from Langtry I believe.
This is from northwestern Texas, on my way to New Mexico.
And here we are in New Mexico, on the way to Carlsbad. 'tis generally flat and boring, but in the far distance you can just make out some mountains.
Some nice skies, though.
This was taken just outside El Paso on Monday morning. The mountains were coated with a sprinkle of snoooooooooow.
Southern New Mexico reminded me a lot of Nevada. Long, seemingly endless plains, broken up here and there by high mountain ranges. Dis be on da I-10.
Mountains. And snoooooow. Shudder.
This is from Arizona. Very much a continuation of New Mexico, with wide open basins surrounded by tall mountains.
