Yellowstone (or at least the parts I saw of it) lacks the majestic grandeur of the Grand Teton mountains, but there are some quite nice places. I believe this one is called the Sleeping Giant; I took the pics from within the park, but the mountain itself is just outside it.
This is Sylvan Pass, where there was still snow on the ground...
More mountain & moon...
This is a place along the lake where steam comes out of the ground - you can hear a hissing sound and a slight smell of sulphur.
And this is from Dragon's Mouth, where there's boiling water and mud and a cave whence smoke and gas comes up to the surface. There's hissing, but also a violent sound as all kinds of evil stuff comes up through the cave, and the stench is horrible. An apt name.
From further north, along the Yellowstone river.
