Sitting Bull's Grave

Sitting Bull's final resting place is something of a mystery. He was originally buried in ND, but family dug him up and placed him in South Dakota. Or so they thought. Apparently it's not clear that they actually took the right person. Anyway, ever a sucker for photo ops, I followed some small side roads through the town of Mobridge to the gravesite on the other side of the Missouri River. There is also a monument there to Sa... the woman who followed Lewis & Clarke.

All pics.

Sitting Bull's grave. Maybe.

It's peaceful and purdy here, on the banks of the Missouri. I'd like to think Lewis and Clarke looked upon the same landscape and felt something of the same love for this vast, wonderful continent.
