Eureka is a small, coastal city in northern California, with some of the nicest Victorian and early 20s architecture in the US. We spent Sunday night and some hours Monday morning in the city; all pics can be found here.
This Victorian mansion is arguably the best kept in the whole of the United States and belongs to a local club, probably filled with the county's rich, old, white guys. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
This pink house belonged to the son of the guy who originally built the mansion above. It's right across the street and doesn't scream "I'm gay" at all. Not the least bit, no sirree.
Some nice buildings in downtown Eureka.
When I win the lottery I'm going to buy this Irish pub or one very much like it. I shall play outdated country music all day and serve nothing stronger than regular soda. I haven't decided on the decor theme yet; it's a toss-up between Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.
