Sooooo... it's 2:25 am here in Seattle. Tonight was spent at a very nice event with the world's greatest living author Neil Gaiman and his wife, Amanda Palmer. Her music will never be my thingy, but at least she seems like a nice person with a good sense of humor.
There was a lot of singing, including some from "special guests" I'd never heard of, and some blissful reading from Mr Gaiman himself, both poetry and stories. Sigh. Turns out this was the last day of their little west coast tour, and Neil has a birthday on the 10th, so they had some lovey-dovey moments over that.
Afterwards we went to a greasy spoon place called The Hurricane, which I highly recommend, not just for their nachos and club sandwhich, but for their jukebox (wheeee!). We met up with a friend of Albie & Court and went walking for a little while afterwards.
My cam, as previously mentioned, is crap, so most of the pics are too dark; they can all be seen here. Additionally, my friend Albie had gotten permission to shoot the show (bitch even got a press card and front row seats *sniffles*) so you may wanna check out her pics too.
Amanda Palmer in action.
Neil Gaiman, seated, got his birthday gift in the form of a cake and a song & dance number by wifey and some girls - I have no idea who they were, but if they walk around like that outdoors, they're gonna catch a cold.
Neil Gaiman reading something brilliant.
