There was a stream running at the bottom of the main valley, so I took some pics of that too. There were also some dry riverbeds elsewhere; I suspect the dryness is strictly seasonal. What, you expect an essay on the waterways of the western US? Bugger off!
With a little bit of sunlight on the water, this looked like gold, not leaves. Sadly, by the time I'd gotten my camera ready, there was no more sunlight. Sigh.
When it comes to photographing moving water, there's a fine line between flowing and blurry. I think these came out just the right side, but I may be wrong.
