Truth or Consequences, or "T or C", as it's often called, is a town in New Mexico. It used to be called Hot Springs, but changed names in 1950, after a popular radio show of that name promised to air its show from the first city that changed its name. It worked marvels for the tourist industry...
Today T or C is a small place, best known (still) for its hot springs and for Elephant Butte Reservoir, which was the world's biggest reservoir when it was built on the Rio Grande in 1912-1916. Today the area is a state park and a popular recreation area.
We found downtown to be a bit windswept and a lot of buildings had vacant lots or where advertised as for sale. On the other hand it also had some nice, colored buildings and some fine murals.
All pics here.
