Chysauster

From Land's End I traveled on to an English Heritage site called Chysauster Ancient Village. I drove miles on tiny, narrow-as-fuck roads, and even had to back down one because a fuckin sewage tanker was coming the other way. Sigh. When I finally got there I found the village was just a bunch of rubble, and wasn't even all that "ancient". When I read ancient in Britain, I think pre-Roman, but this little hamlet was apparently only inhabited in the first through the third centuries AD.

All pics here.

The field leading up to the village. It's a 500 meter climb up from the little parking lot.

The tiny English Heritage kiosk. Must be nice, easy work.
