Fort Moultrie

Fort Moultrie is a historic district, formally under the control of Fort Sumter National Monument. It is the only place where one can trace the whole history of US coastal defenses, if one is that desperately bored. After seeing the extraordinary cheesy introduction film (late 70s/early 80s style) I walked around and got in some landscape photos, which is probably the best way to spend time there. At least my annual pass saved me 3 bucks...

The fortress was decommissioned in 1947.

There was a beach nearby that was real purdy.
