Here is the last of the five segments from Doune Castle - with the main hall and the extra special hall right next to it.
The great hall - used as Camelot, where the knights do routines and chorus scenes and impersonate Clark Gable.
The wooden ceiling is a Victorian touch.
At one end of the hall the residing Duke would mete out justice as he saw fit.
Above the window was a place for the musicians.
The inner hall was for the high and mighty, and was reconstructed by Victorians to look like their ideal image of the Middle Ages, which is quite a different ting from what we now believe the Middle Ages looked like.
