Doune - the kitchen tower

Here are some pictures from inside the Kitchen Tower. The tower also housed some suites, probably for guests.

This was once the great fireplace.

Through these arcs, food was served into the great hall beyond. The kitchen room was used as the room in Castle Anthrax where the nubile nymphs entertain Sir Galahad and he is subsequently rescued against his will, protesting loudly that there's only 150 of them and he can handle them alone.

They must have been able to put on one hell of a dinner from here.

No wonder this kitchen still holds its design, because it was made of concrete that may last a lifetime.
