Mono Lake

Right before the tiny town of Lee Vining there's a lookout point up in the mountain where you have the best views of Mono Lake ever. It's windy as hell up there, but there is also a stroooong smell of wildflowers. Very pleasant to stand up there and look down at this barren landscape, with its otherworldly lake, where you know nothing larger than tiny shrimp live. In my brain it also has large monsters lurking in the deep. Probably amphibians too, who walk on the islands at night.

All pics.

The smell of lavender was almost overpowering.

Some day imma find me a boat and go out to the islands.

My room in Lee Vining. It was ok, but very overpriced.
