Here are pics from some other places we went to in Seattle, all courtesy of the energetic Justin.
From the neighborhood of Fremont, which is so left wing they've often been called the People's Republic of Fremont. Apparently someone thought it a good idea to buy this Lenin statue from one of the "-stan" Republics of Central Asia when the Soviet Union fell.
Where would you put a big sculpture of a troll? Why, under a bridge, of course!
View from Justin's apartment. They sometimes have parades and races on the river right outside his window.
There are locks which connect some lakes and canals around Seattle to the ocean. So as not to disturb the salmon fishing (which is important in this area) they have built a salmon ladder to help the fish. There's even a small visitor center with info boards and glass walls where you can check on their progress.
From the salmon ladder center.
Next weekend they will have a big viking festival in town.
Best cupcakes in the world, and I'm not telling you where you can buy any (largely because I've forgotten the name).
